Why IPM Motors?

A special type of motor called IPM (interior permanent magnet) has a rotor with permanent magnets embedded in it. Compared to other motors as SPM (surface permanent magnet), this type is more stable and avoid to lose magnets under centrifugal force. It also makes use of a very useful property of permanent magnets called reluctance torque. This allows many different kinds of structures for embedding permanent magnets.
